Leo Francis Barkmeier, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Barkmeier, was born July 8, 1919 and passed away at the home of his parents on Tuesday, October 20, 1942 at the age of 23 years, 3 months and 12 days. Leo leaves to mourn his parents Mr. and Mrs. William Barkmeier and one sister Anna Marie. One sister, Margaret, preceded him in death in 1925. Leo was always a kind and loving child and bore his affliction patiently. He was an inspiration by his suffering to all that knew him. Funeral services were held, Thursday, October 22 at 9:30 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with Rev. Antochowoski singing the Requiem High Mass and Rev. John F. Ekeler of Crete, cousin of the deceased, delivering the funeral address. Six of his cousins served as pallbearers.
Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery. Card of Thanks To all who so kindly assisted us during the illness and death of our beloved son and brother we express our sincere thanks.
