Farm Sites
of
Frank and Anna Marie (Barkmeier) Ekeler

A 1905 plat map of the Exeter Township in Fillmore County shows that Frank Ekeler and Anna Marie (Barkmeier) Ekeler were the owners of a 80 acre farm site southeast of Exeter, Nebraska.  Prior to 1910 this farm was sold to Anna Marie's brother George Barkmeier and his wife Anna Catharine (Wiszmann) Barkmeier.

Frank and Anna Marie (Barkmeier) Ekeler then owned a 160 acre farm a few miles west and north of the village of Exeter, Nebraska. The farm was located in the Fairmont Township in Fillmore County.

The farm was just north and east across the road from the farm of her parents, Fred and Mary (Tepe) Barkmeier. After her father's death in 1916, her parents land was farmed by her brother, William Frederick Barkmeier, and his wife, Anna Marie (Winkler) Barkmeier. After her mother's death in 1935, her parents farm was sold to Bert Schwab in 1941. This farm was rented by her son Leo and wife Dorothy (Harre) Ekeler from October 8, 1947 to November 4, 1983.
