Obituary
Clara Elizabeth (Wiszmann) Barkmeier


Mrs. Clara Barkmeier, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wiszmann, was born on March 17, 1885, on the farm one and one-half miles west of Exeter, the farm which she and her husband now own. She grew to womanhood in this community and spent her entire life near Exeter.

She was united in marriage on October 4, 1916, to Fred Barkmeier. To this union two children were born Regina, now Mrs. Maurice Clark, and Edmund of the home.

Mrs. Barkmeier was a kind and loving wife and mother. She was known for her patience and uncomplaining ways. She leaves to mourn beside her husband and two children, four grandchildren, three sisters, Sister Aimo of McCook, Sister Claudia of Spalding, Mrs. Tom Hayes of Exeter and Mrs. Henry Wiszmann also of Exeter.

She passed away at Warren Memorial Hospital in Friend, Nebraska on Thursday, October 1, 1955 at 5:30 p.m. after a short illness. Funeral services were held Monday, October 17th, at 9:30 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with her nephew, Msgr. John F. Ekeler officiating at the Requiem Mass. Msgr.  Patrick J. Healy preached the sermon.

Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery.  Pallbearers were William Miller, Ralph Jensen John Kearns, Cyril Becker, Frank Barkmeier and Fred Ekeler.

Obituary
Frederick August Barkmeier


Fred Barkmeier, 84, retired Exeter farmer, who was born August 26, 1887, passed away April 29, 1971. Funeral services were held Monday, May 3rd at 10:00 A.M. from St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with Msgr. H. H. Ingenhorst officiating. Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery. Farmer Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
