Sophia Dumpert was born on a farm near Exeter on November 16, 1893 and passed away October 6, 1959 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital after a long illness. Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Dumpert, one brother, Bernard, and a sister, Anna. In 1930 she became housekeeper for Msrg. Mandeville, who was the pastor at Auburn, Nebraska. She held that position in York, since Msgr. Mandeville was transferred there in 1933. Miss Dumpert was very active in church work, being a member of the Altar Society at York, and of the Catholic Daughters. A Requiem Mass was sung at St. Joseph's Church by Msgr. Manderville and burial was at the family plot at Exeter on Friday, October 8th
