Ronald William Ekeler was born November 24, 1949. He passed away December 15, 1967, at the age of 18 years and 24 days. Death was caused by a traffic accident. He lived all his life on a farm north of Exeter, Nebraska with his parents, a brother and sisters. Ronnie attended St. Stephen's Catholic School and graduated from eighth grade there. He was also a C.Y.O. member. He then entered Exeter High School and was to be a graduate with the Class of 1968. Ronnie was a member of the F.F.A., Exeter football team, and E club, all of which he very much enjoyed. He leaves to mourn his departure, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Ekeler, a brother, Kenneth, at home, and two sisters, Mary Jane Ekeler of Crete, Nebraska and Doris Ekeler at home; grandmother, Mrs. Frank Ekeler Sr. and several aunts and uncles; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral service were held December 18, with Requiem Mass said by Msgr. Henry Ingenhorst at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. He was laid to rest in the Exeter Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wilfrid Ekeler, Fred C. Ekeler, Larry Ekeler, Richard Barkmeier, James Geiger and Gerald Geiger.
