Jerry L. and Mary Jane (Ekeler) Kelch
Miss Mary Jane Ekeler and Jerry L. Kelch exchanged wedding vows at 1 p.m. November 28, 1970, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Exeter, with Msgr. H. H. Ingenhorst officiating at a double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Ekeler and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Kelch of near Geneva. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length empire waist satin dress with lace over satin bodice and long sleeves scalloping at the wrist. She wore a short veil trimmed in lace identical to the dress. She carried white mums centered with a large yellow mum. Attending the bride was her cousin, Miss Judy Geiger of Omaha. Her dress was a floor-length empire waist of gold velvet. It was trimmed with a brown satin sash at the empire waistline. She carried yellow mums with greens. The flower girl was Lori Fritz, niece of the groom. She wore a white sheer dress trimmed in lace. She had a basket of yellow and white flowers. Serving as ringbearer was Dale Fritz, nephew of the groom. He carried a white satin pillow with the rings. Edward Filipi of Wilber served as best man. Kenneth Ekeler, brother of the bride, and Wendell Moul of Fairmont were ushers. Organist was Mrs. Henrietta Harre and Mrs. John Horne sang. A reception was held at the American Legion Hall. Miss Doris Ekeler, sister of the bride, was at the guest book. Serving the wedding cake were Mrs. Frank Barkmeier and Mrs. Leo Ekeler. Dipping punch was Mrs. Arnold Geiger and pouring coffee was Mrs. James Anderson. Assisting were Mrs. Albert Kaiser and Mrs. Anna Marie Mueller, Miss Nancy Geiger and Connie and Eileen Ekeler. At the gift table were Miss Marguerite Ekeler, Miss Frances Ekeler and Miss Sharon McLeese. The couple is residing in Exeter.
