Verrack "Vic" Hawkins

Vic was born on February 22, 1934 and passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 20, 2006.

He was a life time resident of Long Beach and graduated from Wilson High School, Class of '52. Vic was a founding member of the Long Beach Grand Prix Committee of 300 and active in other community activities. He loved the outdoors, spending time in the Sierras and Bishop, CA. In his travels, he was never at a loss for conversation and making new friends.

Vic was well known for his passion for unique cars including owning his favorite car, a Facel Vega.

 He is survived by his sisters, Rhodanne Foy and Dawn Eden Fletcher; his sons, Scott and Mark Hawkins; his daughter, Melissa Flores; and his four grandchildren, Kevin, Greg and Laura Hawkins, and Isabel Flores Parada.

Vic's ashes were laid to rest off the coast of Long Beach along with his long-time companion, Sally on Saturday, August 26, 2006.
