A very beautiful wedding took place at St. Mary's Church in David City, Nebraska on Tuesday morning, September 24, at 9 o'clock, when Miss Anna Catherine Bougger became the bride of Frank Ekeler, Jr., of Exeter.

The ceremony took place in the presence of about 300 relatives and friends. Father John F. Ekeler of Colon, formerly of David City, a brother of the groom, read the marriage lines. The double ring ceremony was used. After of ceremony a High Mass was celebrated by Father Ekeler. "Ave Maria" was sung at the offertory by Miss Angela Fickie.

After the Mass, the bridal pair breakfasted at the rectory, invited by the pastor, Rev. Father Sproll.

The bride, a daughter of Mrs. Frank Bougger, of near this city, was gowned in a dress of oyster white georgette and wore a veil held in place at here forehead with a band of embroidered and beaded lace. She carried a shower bouquet of Columbia roses and carnations.

Her bridesmaid was Miss Caroline Bougger, sister of the bride, and her attendant was another sister, Miss Josephine Bougger. They were attired in dresses of colorful green and peach flat crepe and carried bouquets of gladioli and ferns. The brides flower girl was Miss Lillian Barkmeier of Exeter, cousin of the groom. She carried a basket of asters in which had been placed the wedding rings.

The groom is the son of Mr., and Mrs. Frank Ekeler of Exeter. He is a progressive young farmer and with his bride will make there home near Exeter. The groomsman was Henry Ekeler, brother of the groom, and his attendant was another brother, Joseph Ekeler. 

At noon, a bounteous two-course dinner was served to about 125 guests at the home of the brides mother. The house was prettily decorated in white, green and peach crepe streamers, with a pretty white wedding bell over the bridal pair's table. A large angel food cake graced the center of the table. The cake was baked by Miss Victoria Geyger of Exeter, friend of he bridegroom.

Many valuable and useful gifts were receive by the newly married couple. Among them was a check for $500, given by Mrs. Frank Bougger, mother of the bride, and a check for $100 from Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ekeler, Sr., parents of the groom. Rev. John F. Ekeler, brother of the groom, presented the pair with a beautiful Crosley radio.

After the wedding festivities, the bridal pair left by car for Omaha, Falls City, and Atchison, Kansas, before going to Exeter.

Those present at the wedding from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs Frank ekleler, Sr. and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barkmeier and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Barkmeier, Mr. and Mrs. August Barkmeier and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Barkmeier and family, Mrs. Fred Barkmeier, Miss Victoria Geyger and Mr. and Mrs. John Barkmeier and family , all of Exeter; and Mr. and Mrs. Pier Spicher and family of Columbus.

FFrank Ekeler Jr. and Anna Catharine Bougger were married September 24, 1929. To this union five children were born: Mary Anne Ekeler, John Leo Ekeler, Frances D. Ekeler, Wilfrid "Willy" Joseph Ekeler and Frank Joseph Ekeler.
