John married Mary Klemm on May 16, 1905. Mary, born July 14, 1883, was the daughter of Frank Mathias and Barbara A. (Hellrich) Klemm. John and Mary farmed northwest of the village of Exeter. They had three children, all boys. Their children were Phillip Frank, born December 31, 1905; John Ferdinand, Jr., born September 17, 1907; and Frank Leo, born March 24, 1910. Phillip did not marry. John Jr. married Opal Eggert and Frank married Helen Christina Geiger. Mary died on May 19, 1956. John and Phillip lived together for awhile and John died on March 30,
1966. John and Mary are buried in the Exeter Cemetery
in Exeter, Nebraska.
